On-going midge control essential in the fight against bluetongue

A warm, but damp British summer makes ideal breeding conditions for the Culicoides midge - that which is responsible for spreading the devastating bluetongue (BTV) virus. It only takes one midge bite to transfer BTV to a susceptible animal, but a population explosion will result in hundreds of thousands of female midges looking for a blood meal.
