2 May 2011
Veterinary students wanting to take part in this year’s Intervet/Schering-Plough Connect Bursary Awards have until the end of May to submit their nominations.
The 2011 Connect Bursary offers veterinary students the chance to win £1,000 to help fund a wide range of domestic and overseas research projects. Two categories of award are available: seven Connect Bursary awards (one awarded to each of the seven UK veterinary schools) for research projects focusing on any species, and a single Connect Equine Scholarship for equine related projects.
Each successful applicant will receive £1,000 towards their research project, plus the chance to win an additional £1,000 for the best overall project.
Students who wish to apply for either award scheme have until 31st May to submit their project proposals and should contact their university project co-ordinator for details. Successful applicants will be required to produce a 1,500 word report and to attend the Bursary Award Day during December 2011 where they will make a short presentation outlining the findings of their research. An overall winner will be selected based on the content of the written report and presentation, and will be presented with the Connect Trophy and a cheque for £1,000.
Attendees to the Bursary Award Day will also have the chance to look behind the scenes at Intervet/Schering-Plough’s research and development facilities in Milton Keynes and to find out more about how new animal health products and vaccines are brought to market.
