Salmonella is once again in the spotlight following the implementation of new EU Regulations aimed at reducing the incidence of salmonellas of human health significance. Salenvac T, available in the UK since 2001, actively immunises chickens against Salmonella enteritidis and Salmonella typhimurium, and reduces shedding of these bacteria. Both of these salmonellas cause illness in humans and are mentioned specifically in the EU Regulations.
