Porcilis Coli 6C
Porcilis Coli 6C is a liquid vaccine with a precipitate which resuspends on shaking. Each 5 ml dose contains cell-free pilus antigens of E. coli, strains K88ab (100–135 units); K88ac (100–135 units); K99 (190–250 units); 987P (2900–3100 units) and purified toxoid of C. perfringens Types B, C and D (together contributing not less than 300 International Unit equivalents of beta toxoid and not less than 200 International Unit equivalents of epsilon toxoid) all absorbed onto aluminium hydroxide (≤ 15mg AL3+). Thiomersal (0.01% w/v) is added as preservative.
Porcilis Coli 6C is for the passive protection of piglets by the active immunisation of breeding sows and gilts to prevent neonatal colibacillosis caused by K99-bearing strains of E. coli; reduce neonatal colibacillosis caused by K88ab, K88ac, and 987P-bearing strains of E. coli and C. perfringens Type C necrotising infectious enteritis.
