MSD Animal Health views its investment in research and the pursuit of new knowledge as the lifeblood of the veterinary profession. For over 25 years we have invested in the veterinary professionals of the future and this is your chance to get involved.

The 2019 MSD Animal Health Research Bursary is now welcoming applications from veterinary students in support of their research projects which are completed by 1st May 2021.

The opportunities are as follows:

  • Five £1000 Research Bursaries will be awarded to students of UK veterinary schools for the best research project applications
  • All bursary recipients will be invited to MSD Animal Health’s headquarters in Milton Keynes to present their research conclusions at the annual MSD Animal Health Research Bursary day
  • The two best research projects presented at the MSD Animal Health Research Bursary day will be awarded a further £1,000 top prize and a £500 runner-up prize respectively. The two winners will also be encouraged to present their findings at a relevant UK veterinary conference. This will be facilitated by MSD Animal Health with funding of hotel accommodation, delegate registration and a further award of £500.
Research Bursary - Student

The judging criteria for the research project applications will consider:

  • Quality and clarity of the research project application
  • The realistic aspirations of the proposed research project
  • The project’s potential value in terms of clinical relevance
  • Its societal and/or welfare impact
  • Originality of the research project
