MSD Animal Health UK donates over 30,000 microchips to animal welfare charities
MSD Animal Health UK is proud to be donating over 30 000 microchips, including HomeAgain® microchips, to animal welfare charities the RSPCA, Hearing Dogs, Redwings, Bransby Horse Rescue, and the Donkey Sanctuary, as part of its commitment to improving animal health.
The HomeAgain microchip allows dog, cat, and horse owners to update their contact information easily and at no cost via the HomeAgain website, helping to bring peace of mind to every owner should their animal be lost.
“We are delighted to donate our HomeAgain microchips to these charities and support them in their important work, caring for and protecting animals. As updating owner contact information with the HomeAgain database is free, quick, and easy via the HomeAgain website, we hope that these donations can help bring peace of mind and continue to help reunite lost animals with their owners as quickly as possible,” said Fieke Bennett, Companion Animal Technology Manager at MSD Animal Health UK.
The charities receiving the donations look after a range of animal species. Redwings is a sanctuary for horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. The Donkey Sanctuary provides care and support for donkeys and mules in the UK and abroad. Meanwhile, Bransby Horses is another equine charity who rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes horses, donkeys, ponies and mules.
As well as equine charities, the microchips are also being donated to charities who support small animals, such as Hearing Dogs, who train dogs to support deaf people through everyday life, and the RCSPCA, who are the largest animal welfare charity in the UK and work to protect vulnerable animals from abuse and cruelty.
