Future of Farming

Moovin’ On Up:  The future of precision livestock farming and the technology that transforms farming efficiency and animal welfare.

Precision livestock farming is reshaping the way that farmers, vets, processers and retailers make animals lives better. The new technology, which includes electronic ID tags and monitoring collars, helps farmers and their vets predict welfare issues, prevent illness and protect the future of the animal and the public.

A new report by The Social Market Foundation (SMF) has identified that there are a few barriers which may be discouraging some UK farmers from accessing this type of technology.

The report, which has been sponsored by MSD Animal Health UK, advocates for precision technology to be included in future policy and suggests ways in which the industry can work together to make the most of the technology.
